Chemistry, often called the "central science," bridges the gap between physics and biology, providing the foundational knowledge that drives advancements in medicine, technology, environmental sciences, and more. Students majoring in chemistry are not just diving into a subject—they're immersing themselves in the intricate world of atoms, molecules, and reactions forming our universe's fabric. A chemistry major typically offers several tracks or concentrations to cater to different career and academic goals. The specific tracks and classes can vary by institution but usually include general chemistry, biochemistry, organic chemistry, physical chemistry, and environmental chemistry. Students often participate in laboratory classes associated with lecture courses, independent research projects, and seminars. A degree in chemistry opens doors to diverse career opportunities. Graduates can pursue roles in pharmaceuticals, where they develop life-saving drugs, or in agrochemistry, ensuring sustainable and efficient food production. There's also forensic chemistry, where professionals solve criminal cases, and cosmetic chemistry, which blends art with science to create beauty products. Chemistry majors can continue their education in graduate, medical, law, and business schools.By applying wisely, building confidence, and getting it right, I help students on their journey to college admission success. Dear LinkedIn colleagues, It's that time of year again... As part of my year 2 employability course, I am asking small groups of 3-5 students to “interview a professional” for about 15 minutes to gain insights on various topics (sector skills / commercial awareness). I've done this over the last couple of years across years 2/3.This week students are researching professionals they may want to contact and then, on Friday 19th April, during a workshop, groups are deciding who to contact. As ever, I'm hopeful students will find people to contact themselves via LinkedIn, but this post might come as a helping hand and any likes/comments here could be used as a backup for them... Your professional experiences to help our students have been greatly received previously. Group themes are entirely student designed and include:- Academia (covering MSc/PhD and research focussed in academia)- Accountancy, finance, investment finance (non-chemistry)- Analytical chemistry / Analysis- Art Conservation/restoration/preservation/dating - using chemical knowledge to preserve artwork and museum pieces- Chemical engineering- Chemical industry (including research in industry - the default)- Cosmetic production / Cosmetic Science / Cosmetic Chemistry / Perfumery synthesis- Energy / Environment / Renewables / Sustainability - consultant/scientist/engineer in these fields- Food science/chemistry/flavourings- Forensics- Fuels: Nuclear Energy- Materials Chemistry/Science/Manufacturing (including polymers / polymer science / functional organic materials)- Medicinal Chemistry: Pharmaceuticals/Drug discovery- Organic chemistry (not specifically pharma linked - see other options above)- Patent law- Teaching (secondary school)Thanks for your time! #employability #LearnFromExperts#science#chemistry

#The_Unexpected_Catalyst: How Chemistry Ignited My Personal GrowthChoosing a master's degree isn't just about future careers and skillsets; it's about sparking personal transformation. For me, that spark came in the form of...chemistry. Yes, chemistry!I pursued this path driven by pure passion, but little did I know the profound impact it would have on who I am today. Chemistry became more than equations and reactions; it became a lens through which I view the world.Suddenly, everything became systematic. From tackling daily tasks to approaching complex challenges, I found myself applying the analytical framework of chemistry to every aspect of life. This new lens isn't just about precision; it's about intentionality. Every step, every decision, is now deliberate, fueled by a desire to understand cause and effect and achieve the desired outcome. My journey with chemistry has been more than just academic advancement; it's been a journey of self-discovery. It has instilled in me a sense of order, intentionality, and a deeper appreciation for the world's intricate dance of elements and reactions. So, for those wondering how their chosen degree might shape them, I say this: embrace the unexpected. The path you forge may not be linear, but the knowledge and skills you acquire can become the catalysts for profound personal growth, just like they did for me.#PersonalGrowth #ChemistryForLife #UnexpectedJourney #MastersDegreeImpact

Hello my valued Network!!😃🎓Reflecting on the incredible journey that was my Bachelor's in Chemistry Honours at GLA University, 2023. Those days spent playing with lab instruments, witnessing magical chemical reactions, and the occasional collective fine for unintentional lab instrument mishaps created a vibrant tapestry of memories. From forgetting lab coats during practicals to meticulously preparing lab files, every moment was a unique blend of challenges and triumphs. The beauties of arrows in reaction mechanisms and the significance of named reactions turned the seemingly complex world of Chemistry into a fascinating puzzle. Securing an 81% and earning the degree with distinction is a testament to the dedication poured into this academic chapter.Yet, as the saying goes, change is the only constant. My journey has taken an unexpected turn towards my true passion—Management. From my school days, I exhibited a knack for organizing and leading, and now I find myself immersed in the world of MBA studies. While Chemistry will always have a special place in my heart, my enthusiasm for exploring new ideas and managing tasks has steered my path in a different direction.Excitement fills the air as my convocation is scheduled on 17th Dec. The convocation ceremony marks not just the end of a chapter but the beginning of a new one. Connect with me as I step into the realm of Management with eagerness and determination and let me know when you are having your convocation ceremony.🎓🎓#ChemistryGraduate #GLAUniversity #BScHonours #ChemistryMagic #LabLife #ReactionMechanisms #ManagementPassion #MBAJourney #ConvocationDay #NewBeginnings #ChangeIsGood #ProudGraduate #LabStories #ChemistryLove #ManagementSkills #ExploringPassions #GraduationMemories #LifeAfterGraduation

There is also a certification program on Regulatoty Compliance for those who wants to go to Quality or Regulatory areas. The students from this program are also exceptional since I have the pleasure interacting with many of them. Highly recommended. #pharmaceuticals #quality #qualitymanagement #regulatorycompliance #education
